System and Server maintenance notice

Before 30th September 2016 – All online versions of KitCAD i3 KGC r3, KitCAD i3 KGC r5/r50, and KitCAD i3 KGC rX could fail to display uploaded KP2 files. The online versions of KitCAD i3 KGC were not effected and continue to operate as expected (get.cgi may not be permitted to obtain external web sites). Online versions after the 30th September 2016 will display uploaded KP2 files 🙂

The hosting provider netsolhost.com has made changes (perhaps not of its own doing).
A change made by the hosting provider is to disable HTTPS access (again) and until more is known a record of change may be located at HTTPS / SSL Proxy Service/s release and update notices.

More information about the issue is being sort – and the hosting provider has been working on solving the issue for 2 days (before this posting). In other threads this problem however seems to of existed since March. It has been determined to resolve any issues by manually editing exiting or writing new coding solutions where required.

The current status of issues can be monitored at http://www.kitchenpages.com/_default/status.html

Developer and Administration details may be viewed within the comment/s of this posting.

The CGI package of LWP (aka commands of LWP::UserAgent) is not returning as expected; And is causing r3/r5/r50/rX online versions to fail at reloading KP2 files that are uploaded.

The HTACCESS mod_rewrite proxy redirection is failing and instead giving end users the location address (no user information is stored or sent via such redirection just encase this kind of thing ever happened). This second issue may be causing the issue with LWP::UserAgent commands (unknown at this time).

In relation to KitCAD online versions – The effected files are named kitcadi3_open3050r3.cgi {failure prevents kpd loading of KP2 files}, get.cgi and got.cgi {data from external sites will fail}, and other files on server which contain a command in relation of LWP::UserAgent will not function as expected.

A LWP function has been devised for differing uses and will be applied as a work-around to LWP being disabled. The file of kitcadi3_open3050r3.cgi being the exception as it requires to be merged with get.cgi; and a testing-work-around version is under development.

A perl kitcadi3_open3050r3.pl version for KitCAD i3 KGC rX with XAMPP download option will be provided (by end of October 2016, or sooner depending on test results and available time) as a separate download workaround for administrators with issues regarding LWP – view the rX developer notes and/or pending updates for any future workaround download/s.

  2. Admin Says:

Updated online kitcadi3_open3050r3.cgi to remove use of LWP for requesting file from get.cgi script (described above in previous comment). The get.cgi script has been merged with kitcadi3_open3050r3.cgi to correct the issue of KP2 files not being able to reload.
