Do not follow the instructions below. Please consult your vendor’s instructions on working with their products, like any material data sheets that came with your decorative surface/s should be read first before looking here. General hints and tips are provided on what you may need. No guide for fabrication is present at this stage.
The information below is arranged for Melamine decorative surfaces only. The information within may be applied to other decorative surfaces that are similar.
Hand Tools: files, rasps, sanding paper, screw drivers, hammers, tape measure, saws, levels, pointing tools, hand plaines, straight edges, squares, bevels, and many more tools.
A perfect edge can be made by handsaws and plainers or routers while it is still possible to use most normal wood working tools.
Electric, hand and power tools can be used.
Plainer, Routers, Jigsaw, Drills, Edge tape applicator, Heat & Nailing Guns, Circular saws and Bench saw/s. (Bench saw blades with more than 96 teeth, +2000Rpm’s @300mm diameter will give a clean cut.)
Always use Safety equipment.
Dispose of waist products properly.
Use biodegradable products if possible.
Always practice screwing, stapling or nailing, and gluing where possible to local building codes.
Screws are always required in cabinet construction, screws should not be over tightened, as the fixing will fail, wood nails are never used unless its solid timber.
Cutouts and internal corners should be handled with care as to avoid cracks in the medium or decorative surfaces.
Corners or chipping may result from the decorative surface being pulled off the material medium because the cutting stroke being of greater pressure than that of the decorative surface/s.
Drilling can be done using either high-speed twist bits, or for hard surfaces use a high-speed scriber bit.
Ensure all surfaces are free of dust and dirt before gluing.
Edge tape is finished (sanded) before attaching the cabinet doors.
Timbers are finished (sealed) before construction.

If unsure then stop and get help.
Do not lift items that are over 25Kg’s or too big in size always get another person, trolley or a jack to lift it with you.
