Support for the SU applicaiton with RB files

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

Added limited support for KitCAD i3 to generate and export Ruby Scripts which will allow basic conversion from KP2 into SKP (using SketchUp to process Ruby Scripts and save a SKP file).

As an example:-
Open KitCAD i3 online,
Selectnew drawing
Click the ‘options‘ to show the options dialog.
Set the option of ‘File Rendering I/O‘ to ‘surs‘.
Click the Update link.
Close the options dialog window
Select a BC2DI object item from the KitCAD toolbar drop-down menu.
Click the Draw button to place the BC2DI object item to the plan as object ID 0
Click the 3D button to display the SU RB converter.
When prompted by KitCAD i3, save the RB file to the Sketch-Up Plugins directory. eg :- C:\Program Files\Google\Google SketchUp 7\Plugins
Then Start Sketchup.

NOTE :- Remove the RB file using KitCAD by saving a Empty KitCAD i3 plan (using the same process above, and over-write the previous saved file).

The OS button on the _i3_surs.htm webpage form changes path values from WIN32 to MAC.
WIN 32 graphics can be downloaded with KitCAD i3 TEST Setup. Currently there are NO graphics supplied for the MAC file path. Files can be downloaded from the pink and timber profiles into the MAC file path of /Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp 7/SketchUp/plugins/pink/ and /Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp 7/SketchUp/plugins/timber/ paths as required)
